It's so popular to hate this band on Sputnik

Because they are all over the place, monotonous

They are all over the place many times, agreed. Just read my soundoff for Colors, it pretty much says what I have to say
|
| |
"How can you be all over the place and monotonous at the same time?"
My first thought as well, but I think I know what he meant

Yeah, just ignore or adore, lol

i wouldnt say it's a straight correlation but if people can't see more consistency and flow in their last 2 releases they're not remotely listening hard enough

That, exactly.
|

It's more consistent, yeah, and it definitely flows better, but I see this album as more boring than their last few releases.

well at least your opinion sounds informed
|
| |
Lol.
There are people that don't fancy this as much as the group's other work. I just want you guys to realize it's possible to feel that way and to have good reasoning behind it!
Yeah, this album's MORE consistent, but that doesn't mean it's a very consistent album. "Silent Flight" is about five minutes too long, "Lay Your Ghosts" is probably two too long, and "Melting City" has some damned pointless riffs. For every strong moment there is, there's one around the corner that frustrates me.
I enjoy this album, but I definitely see some very distracting flaws in it.
