I actually like that song despite how weird the country aspect of it is. Idk, still seems genuinely nice and sincere

That's fair, I find it a bit goofy but I'm not too big of a country guy

Love me some decent country and love me some 'tallica so I dig that one a lot. Tuesday's Gone is awesome too tbh

No. Just no. This album is 100% the reason why everyone started making fun of Metallica in the 90s. They went from the most beloved mainstream metal band to laughing stocks within 10 minutes of this album's release.

I hate people like that. “Durr I hate Load bc they sold out!” Like holy fuck, it’s not 1996, nobody gives a shit. Grow the fuck up.

i think it had more to do with the style they employed here compared to previous albums. i was certainly guilty of it. but then i revisited it years later and realized that there are some excellent tracks here.

plus, the uproar about metallica seemed to be more about them cutting their hair than the music they were making at the time.

Bwahaha! Naah, I always liked the songs on Reload more. Haven't listened to either album in its entirety in over a decade and a half though.

I mean they definitely became more of a business than a band, and it wasn’t JUST because this isn’t metal but yeah I actually quite like this album, may bump up a .5 or so

I mean I didn't say anything about this making them "sell outs" or anything but okay. I was just acknowledging the fact that this album is 100% the point where the majority of people turned on this band, and for good reason. I've said multiple times on this album's review and in the soundoff section that people don't hate this because it's a different style or not "metal", they hate it because it's flat out shit. You can go ahead and throw this up next to whatever random Nickelback or Seether album you want, same quality.

Nickelback actually has some good albums too, though
