not just talking his literal use of nonsense in I Am the Walrus chuck more the fact that as stated in this thread he was a piece of shit human who had the arrogance to write about peace and love in his lyrics, fuck him

i get you robro

def a hypocrit like i said. he almost certainly had some sort of mental issue and the regular drug use probably didn't help him maintain any semblance of balance. That said I like the fact he kept his public image as one of a role model of universal love and acceptance even if it was part fake

sure he inspired peace in thousands of people but is that really a good thing if he himself was full of shit? I honestly don't know, that's a good question. maybe the ends outweigh the means but I will always be skeptical of people who blindly praise their idols without considering what other dimensions they may have had. that's not aimed at anyone on here ofc more just general idiotic circlejerks I've seen around the internet

If only death metal had been around, he wouldn't have to be a hypocritical hippie.

Beyond that, if someone found peace and love through his lyrics - and millions claim they did - his sins are forgivable.

I'm not sure domestic violence can ever be "forgiven" but we can sure hush it over when we talk about how good the dude's music was right guys???

I hate domestic violence and it will always cast an ugly shadow on Lennon's work.

Row, you don't strike me as a person who will change his mind significantly on this subject. Did your father or mother beat you/each other?

nah just think it's unforgivable in every circumstance and one of the more disgusting things humans are capable of, but likewise you don't strike me as someone who'll be swayed
