This could grow further, though i can't imagine it becoming a 5 for me.
From what i know Panopticon should be even more up my alley

This was a 3.5 at one point, now I have three of their records at a 5 and they’re a top 5 all timer for me. Just immaculate xD

"The remaster of this is so fucking good. It makes me want to bump this to a 5"
Yes, yes, yes! You are so fucking right about that. Caxide's bass has a lot more detail and definition and the reverb on Harris' drums makes the whole of the mix sound more massive on the remaster.
The Panopticon remaster that came out a few months earlier before the Oceanic remaster was just as great IMO. I can only imagine what a remaster of In The Absence Of Truth would sound like with a much more livelier mix on the guitars especially.

What I wouldn't give for an ITAOT remaster

"What I wouldn't give for an ITAOT remaster"
All of us who find the charm in ITAOT desperately want a remaster...and it's the only one they haven't remastered yet too. Even Wavering Radiant got remastered (but only on vinyl).
"Yeah especially if they fixed that fuckn snare drum"
Too tin can-y, yes. If they remixed the snare to make it as it sounds on Oceanic or Panopticon, that'd solve the snare problem IMO.

I worked at a sushi restaurant as a waiter and there was always this big fight about what music should be played during preparations. So I put ITAOT sometimes and the guys would just listen to the it in silence without bitching or complaining, and as soon as the first costumers walked in everyone was like "aw man"
In Fiction was a fucking jam as well, but the speakers were Mono so I had to pick carefully

I love The Beginning and The End, Carry and Weight. The other songs lack something compared to those three, because to me they are straight 5/5 material. Maybe it's the lack of the softer and more emotional spots on the other tracks.
Listened to Panopticon now too 3 times and it grows on me pretty fast
