This is how prog metal is done. It's short and sweet with only six songs, literally no wankery and only passion, a massive atmosphere which hits hard, it's so amazing.

Omg that fucking riff at about 3:20 in Threshold Of Transformation is absolutely destructive.

Said this in another Isis thead. If The Pliable Foe was included on this, this would be my favorite album of all time. As is stands, it's number 7.

I listened to this for the first time in a while the other day. One thing I noticed is that this seems more complex in a musical sense than their albums prior to this. I am bumping up to a 4.5 for sure.

Yeah this was their least instantaneous album for me personally, but it's definitely grown the most out of any of them too. Panopticon will always be my favourite but this thing has second spot on lockdown and at this point it's easily one of my most frequently jammed post-metal albums.

Ghost key came up on rando today. Forgot just how heavy it is.

Still easily the Isis album I spin the most.

Broken record, I'm sorry: The first three songs on this album are the 3 best consecutive songs in my entire discog.

It really confuses me how ALL post Panopticon Isis does absolutely NOTHING for me. To the point it upsets me because they were such a massive part of my life for so long.

They do basically become a different band after Panopticon. Much less sludge and much more prog. I love all of their albums, though.
