So you're saying I should watch Akira? Also what's your next favorite Miyazaki? I want to watch I think either Howl's Moving Castle or Princess Mononoke next

I enjoy life, I just don't particularly enjoy people. I'm more of a relaxed person who likes art than some talkative social butterfly.

Princess Mononoke is the shit.

I don't know, like, the slugh Ubaba put in Haku was supposed to control him, right? I mean, she put it in him a while ago, so why does he have such a rebellious nature, and why is he willing to help out Chihiro? I mean, I get the whole "love conquers all" theme throughout the movie, but unless he's just that benevolent, it's a hard bargain that Miyazaki aimed for, especially because Haku only worked for Ubaba to steal her secrets along with her sister's. It's one of the few times where Miyazaki's love of accessibility makes his message ambigous, unlike the beginning scenes where Chihiro's parents reenact all that post-war Japanese gov't. shit with all those visual metaphors.

As well, the family is there for about a week, and it's reflected in the end with all the leaves on their car and shit, but it leaves me with the question "what exactly happened next?" and not in a good context. Wouldn't they have been reported missing or something after such a long time? Would the movers even still be there? Probably and definitely not.

Not particularly considering most people on this site hate me, but there are a few really cool users in these threads. *Sighs* Unfortunately, few of them share my tastes.

goat-demons shall call to each other;
there too Lilith shall repose,
and find a place to rest.
There shall the owl nest
and lay and hatch and brood in its shadow

Cowboy Bebop's animation always bothered me.

I was always all over Death Note for whatever reason and FLCL.

I've never been a huge fan of the really sketchy stuff.

I can't take shit like death note seriously. FLCL was fun because it was supposed to be zany and out there. Miyazaki films are great because of the gaiaist elements and good storytelling, and i love a lot of the sci-fi stuff, but when it comes to fantasy/magic/supernatural stuff, i just can't do it anymore.

Maybe Ill get Akira I need a good movie to watch.

Also, B4k, your whole first paragraph is a little too much for me to respond to without re-watching (which I should do). And I guess to answer you second one, yeah that's probably true. I mean for all we know, when they get there they've been reported missing and the movers wouldn't be there. It's nitpicky for sure, but maybe worth mentioning. Whether or not they've been reported missing would seem like no big deal compared to what they'd just gone through, but I guess maybe the real problem is when the parents found out, they'd be like wtf just happened?

The biggest problem I had with the movie (and I didn't really have a problem with it because it's so WTF it becomes hilarious) is the dad hauling so much ass through the forest. God that scene's hilarious.

I tried to show the movie to my friends and they all hated it/called me a faggot afterwards. Kind of like what happens when I try to share this album with my friends. My friends have shitty opinions and closed minds.

Do any of you guys think a 30 minute freak folk album is probably too short? I mean I made one, and it's easier to digest in a smaller dosage and it's great for repeated listens, but I'm not sure if it's too short. Like, do most 30 minute albums make you uneasy with how short they are?

No, they don't. A lot of albums suffer from being too long and bloated; something easily digestible is often a refreshing chance of pace (for me).

Okay. I know a lot of people are nitpicky with albums having to be at least 40 minutes long, so I was just checking.
