I guess it is just a matter of opinion then...to me, inspiration doesn't (always) hinge on things like how heavy the music is/the ratio of screaming to clean vocals. Plus I found songs like 'The Lotus Eater' to actually be amazingly diverse, interesting, and pushing the band's limits in a more progressive, melodic direction.
I agree that Opeth's earlier works like Still Life and BwP set the foundation for everything Opeth is today, I just think that they have only gotten better.
