It really isnt though. Watch that clip I posted yesterday about how Barrow went about recording these beats. Getting drummers in, to play over it, Pushing it to vinyl, scratching them up and then recording it. He never simply sampled shit. Nothing wrong with still loving a record thats a classic.It Was passed off as 'background music' 'art school' shit back then too.

This ain’t background music son, it’s engrossing, captivating and has that magical ethereal like quality/atmosphere that painfully few musicians can ever hope to achieve. Maybe if you require bells and whistles around every corner it could seem unremarkable. It’s certainly not the flashiest album I’ve ever heard, nor does it need to be.

This album is boring as hell...I guess I don’t get it.
It gets compared to Mezzanine and Entroducing as the best electronic albums of the 90s but to me it’s not anywhere near the level of those albums.
