I slightly prefer Human to this, Symbolic is their best though

Symbolic is too slow for my taste.
Still a strong 4.5 though. I'd probably 5 every Death album besides Leprosy if I knew I could and not get my ratings wiped.

Rate them exponentially and I doubt anyone'll ever notice, that's what I'm thinking of doing for Opeth's discography. Also why you would leave Leprosy out of that?

Leprosy would be their best until Human but SBG is so fun and over-the-top, it takes the cake for me.

What do you mean by too slow? The pace of the album in general or the speed of the riffs etc?
Also agreed, Death's discog is consistent as hell.

What do you mean by too slow?
I mean the overall pace when you compare it to the other 90s Death albums.
Symbolic is probably Death's strongest album as far as songwriting goes, but the others are more enjoyable
and memorable for me. The reason that this is my favorite is easily the bass guitar. I see ITP as a sort of
middle ground musically speaking between Human and Symbolic too.

Mhm, I can kinda see that. I honestly can't say I have a favorite Death album, their last LP is a bit more memorable but that's mainly because I worked my way backwards through their catalogue.
Which reminds me, I still need to get some of my DM collection back that I lost with my stupid HDD dying.

human is prob my fav now
symbolic was for a long time, but the quality of the musicianship on human is off the charts (not surprising, given that
godly lineup)
also i like the vocals on human more than symbolic

They always had a stellar lineup, though. As I said, I can't even pick a favorite because their material is ridiculously consistent.

Damn wolf, I had to do that when I got a new PC a few months ago. I'm still nowhere close to restoring my library.

it's been really hard for me to pinpoint one as favorite since I stopped loving symbolic more than life itself but pretty sure I've settled on leprosy, but yeah their whole discog is obviously stellar and consistent as hell
