People who aren't accustomed to heavy music all think it sounds similar, so I'm not sure that's a fair statement. While I think it's likely fans of Converge would enjoy Pig Destroyer (and many do, based on the Converge Cult group), it's absolutely not because they sound similar, but because they use similar writing tools. Technicality and brevity mixed with raw emotion. Just my take anyway
