Does trending depend on comments? I still don't understand it.

"Jesse Lacey is the George Lucas of music"

"Let's not go that far"

Actually, you are right, George already had over 40 years. Jesse has only had 15 years. It will probably get worse.

Btw I agree hard with not changing your rating after you've reviewed an album. I remember seeing a redsky review for a thrice album that talked about how essential it was to the genre and he had like a 2.5 on top haha.

I always felt like the entire progression of Sowing Season was slightly derivative of I Can Barely Breathe by Manchester Orchestra. Just a better version, that's all.

Same acoustic strums in the intro, same soft-to-loud timing, even a similar riff.

Edit: the MO album this was on was released just a month before TDAG though, so it's safe to say it's a coincidence.

to me it just kind of destroys the credibility of the reviewer - not actually, but in the eyes of readers just passing by. it makes it seem like he/she jumped the gun, got all excited, then settled and realized it's not earth-shattering. makes the reviewer appear reactionary and impulsive, even if the reality of the fact is that 8 years passed and blink-182's s/t just simply isn't profound anymore.
