100% serious. Always loved that one. But I am generally partial to bands like this' take on softer ballad-type tracks. Lonely Day, Soldier Side, Lost In Hollywood, Aerials, Spiders, etc. all of their softer songs hit for me. I get it's atypical for them, but it works just as well as stuff like Prison Song IMO

it's just too wholesome for me to not love, especially when you know about it being in memory of Daron's mother who passed away. Simple works when it's commemorating the memory of someone you loved like that.

that might be it. i love both Serj and Daron pretty much equally, sometimes I'm in more of a Daron mood and other times Serj. That's the beauty of this band's music, they are able to provide something worthwhile no matter what mood I'm in.
