10,000 Days is so much better than this tbh. the band actually brings a level of energy and excitement that’s absolutely missing from this. I’m glad people are liking this but to me it’s just diet Lateralus
the drums on here are also nothing really to write home about. Danny’s a great player, but the fills typically don’t match the energy of the rest of the band, going from 0 to 60 to throw out a flashy but sloppy fill. also, when the band pulls back dynamically, it’s like he doesn’t know what to do, and tries these little patterns that just kind of fizzle out after a few repetitions
