That is something I want in my life right now.
Not really familiar with Patreon. Is it a one time buy or a subscription?

Subscription but you only have to commit to the $5 for a single month and then can cancel. If it makes it even more worth it for ya, they have several livestreams and other exclusive videos you can dig through during that initial month

I think you can download all the stuff too

I'm not big on Patreon at all, not specifically for this band just in general. I hate the idea of subscription based services when it comes to music, because I feel like I'm paying for something I may or may not like. Plus it seems most of the stuff ends up becoming available anyway. It's probably a dumb take but I'm old fashioned. If there was a band I'd pay a monthly fee for though, it'd be these guys.

This is the first one I’ve ever done and I’m very impressed so I can’t really knock the model myself. Every week there is something new. They had a live performance of BedHead posted the same day the single dropped, they’ve dropped almost all the sinful math demos and several demos from a bunch of other albums. They do exclusive things (sent people signed Christmas cards), exclusive Patreon only vinyl variants (I got the new one pre ordered) and do full live stream concerts. They also do a great job interacting and commenting back to fans. Sure I’m sure if you took the time to dig you could find ALL of the content they have shared on Patreon, outside of Patreon, but $5 to support the artist and get notified of each mini release without having to dig on file shares is worth it to me
I feel like an ad now haha

can confirm it's well worth
the latest Sinful Math song was so good, had that midwest emo vibe to it

Patreon directly helps artists more than most streaming platforms 🤷♀️
|
| |
artists can’t do live shows rn, and without that revenue they are starving. some artists push their patreons too hard, sure, but it’s a good platform.

it’s either that or sell feet pics

I dislike Patreon for selfish reasons, but it's not difficult to understand its value to the artist. It probably doesn't help that I'm not all that much into demos, would always rather see them properly recorded. I understand that takes money, so back in a circle we go. I'm glad there are folks out there willing to subscribe, but I'd rather just pony up for the merch. I just dropped like $100 on MMOG shirts the other week, lol.

Yeah I'd rather just drop £££ on merch from bands that I discover and end up liking.
|
| |
yeah but let’s be real, bands don’t make shit off merch

Patreon can be cool depending on what they offer

I'm not trying to knock it. Anything bands can do to make their existence worthwhile and/or make a living is a good thing.

new song today!

Really dig the new direction they are taking, new song is good. A grower for sure. Only minor complaint would be the sound of the drums in some parts.
But let’s talk about that fucking transition.

Keel Timing + Bed Head > The Sunshine + The Grocery

I'm pretty let down by Keel Timing. The drumming is unnoticeable and the melody is very similar to Bed Head's even though it comes right before it in the tracklist. I'm still cautiously optimistic about the LP itself, but so far I'm not hearing the experimentation that I was hoping for. Just sounds like MO opting for catchy and accessible electronic pop rock rather than the emotional, cathartic, and climactic anthems that built their empire. Hope I'm wrong.
