Comparing Meshuggah and MH lyrics is like comparing Tool to P Diddy.

Burn My Eyes and The Blackening are close to some Meshuggah albums, but overall, Meshuggah is a better band.

Also Clockworks fucking brings it

I don't get the love for Clockworks. When I saw them live they opened with that and it was the one song in the set that had me kind of bored. The drum cover some 13 year old girl did of it was pretty sick though.

Yup I was bored. Didn't care too much for the other 2 songs they played off this but they were a bit better (and shorter). I absolutely loved the rest of their set although I had heard they had been playing In Death Is Life and In Death Is Death during some recent shows and we didn't get that. They did close with Future Breed Machines though so that was something at least.

I think Clockworks is one of the best songs they have done post-obzen.

Fantastic drumming.

It has no meandering parts that their slower Nothing era material is guilty of, the songwriting is tight as shit.
The drum part during the solo is some weird timekeeping indeed.

I think Haake said it was the hardest song for him to nail

Correct. There is an official playthrough of the song by Haake on youtube and it is a tricky song to play.

" I had heard they had been playing In Death Is Life and In Death Is Death during some recent shows and we didn't get that"

Damn bro, I got that twice. Once in NY and once in Boston. I lost my fucking mind.

And I must have seen them like four or five times now and I have never seen Future Breed Machine but literally all of my friends have and it drives me fucking crazy.

Also yeah, Clockworks is fucking insane - I don't get how THAT'S the song that you don't like by them, but to each their own.
