i was playing this album in discord a week or two ago and when the main tapping riff comes on in the T/t my brother said “that’s the most death metal riff I’ve ever heard.”

I mean this is a great album but I would prob agree with the majority consensus and say its prob their weakest. I've been jamming the death catalog for 10+ years and know them all by heart this is prob the one that doesnt hold quite as much weight for me. First 2 are deff better as death metal records and their later prog albums are also better executed with the prog and expanded upon. This is kinda in that weird middle ground between the more full on death metal before it and prog after it and doesnt quite hit the heights of either

Bro it's not their weakest at all, this album is amazing: the simplicity, catchiness and rawness combo at its best
I mean ofc Human is their best but it takes a bit more to get into, it's a different beast. Symbolic incredible but missing just a tad of rawness for me
I don't get the love for TSOP at all, maybe it's just because I'm not much into prog, but also I hate the vocals, could never get into that
