Well I really don't think this is an album to be listened to as a whole, it feels more like a collection of songs seperated from each other that can be absorbed in any order imo

Never heard the Swans EP but Filth is filthy good, would love to get a copy of Swans are Dead or Public Castration one day as they do rule live (seing them in june, oh yeah!). Anybody listened to that other live album they released recently? wonder if it's also worth it...

Not yet, I am making slow progress. XD

The EP has a similar vibe to Pretty Hate Machine. The same kind of "wow, these guys REALLY changed as

they moved forward"

Yeah it's mental how much they've changed, Children of God is like a bridge between the earlier style and their will to go forward and add more ideas/influences to the mix. Since the reformation I feel like Gira has made a synthesis of all the different faces and aspects of swans to craft THE Swans sound, or at least that's how I feel about it.

White Lights from The Mouths of Eternity is also a fascinating release in the sense that it packs some of the most positive and well...happy swans material ever wrote whilst keeping their sound and beauty, as well as packing pieces like "Failure" one of my favorite tracks ever and probably the saddest in the swans discography, but you'll find up yourself ;)
