Well to be fair I've only listened to Heartwork which I didn't really like all that much, I'm told the early stuff was better but I'm a bit put off

It's very rare for people to say early Carcass is better than Heartwork (I do agree about that though). It's probably my least favorite album of theirs after the new one. Symphonies of Sickness and Necroticism are the best/my favs
