I dunno, I can remember listening to this for the 1st time and couldn't make it through devil in the details (this was like 8-9 years ago so I would be around 10) but I actually find it quite relaxing now.
Over the Horizon Radar is like greatest ambient interlude ever. Damn, coming back to this after a few months is incredible. Like not having sex for a few months and then it happens and you're like 'damn I thought it was good but it's sweet' except x10000000.

you know whats weird about boards of canada's music, it often works better as a memory than as an experience
what i mean by that is that all of their albums havent really grabbed me from the beginning. it too me a while to decide that MHTRTC was a 5 star album, and i honestly thought that this didnt even come close. but recently, after not listening to this for quite a long time (its been a couple months since i spun it), i put it on and when tracks came on, even though ive heard them a million times, somehow they were just perfect, like memories that you fight to bring back and then as soon as they come back its the most triumphant feeling ever because its just like you wanted it.
i honestly think thats how they wanted their music to be consumed.
