it was post-metally but in a different way. like, drop-A sludgy chugging overlayed with pretty guitar lines and broken up with post-rocky parts. it also had slide guitar, woot

Yeah, I just relistened. Definitely new stuff for the band, just like the outro to 'O Come'.

With ‘Little Drummer Boy’ I wanted to do something really different from any previous August Burns Red songs. The end result is pretty much our attempt at down-tuned post metal, which is something I’ve been a fan of for a long time now. The song was recorded in drop A, which is much lower than we usually play.

...from the guitarist. He's a fan of down-tuned post-metal. Good. Keep it up.

Jake(the singer) has such a wonderful testimony and turn around in his life that it made the record so much more...I had already owned it but when I knew his past and what the band did for him...a few standout tracks for me are White Washed, Indonesia and Crusades

they definitely still chug on this album, just significantly less often than on messengers

I don't remember what 'Little Drummer Boy' sounded like but I think it was in similar vain, wasn't it?

The riffs and leadwork are fucking awesome, but their breakdowns always sound weak, they need to stop holding out they're open notes when they palm-mute.

It was a nice review, but I did have a few problems with it only because I don't think they got the credit they deserved on this specific album, Constellations. It's by far their most creative, and dynamic album to date. JB Brubaker of ABR said it himself, "We really spread our creative wings on this album." Their 4th album dropping the summer of 2011 should blow this album out of the water, it's gonna be immense. August Burns Red fucking shreds.
