It is a complicated thing, to be honest. I like humanity for one simple reason: we can feel, but at the same time I can't deny that we're far from the best. I wonder if it is possible for humans to become, to say it in one way, machines that feel; people have wondered if artificial intelligences can resemble humans, but is not it interesting to think if humans can resemble artificial intelligence?

"Well, simple, because it's better. Gods and machines are above humans, the closer a human is to them, the better."
uh.. why are machines above humans? lol .. i feel like i'm getting trolled or something this is weird
|
| |
No, you're not getting trolled, I'm just a bit weird sometimes, I guess. Now, why are machines above humans? Well, machines at the moment aren't better than humans, they're under our control after all, but that can and (probably) will change with the creation of artificial superintelligences, after that, singularity happens and humanity will most likely end. Some say that might is right, and I disagree with that, but they have a point, even if might isn't right, how right someone is doesn't really matter that much if that person is dead.

Objectivity and music thats something i dont want to get into

"Objectivity and music thats something i dont want to get into"
Honestly, that's a very understandable decision.
"Alexander confirmed part of sput transhumanist club"
Haha, I'm not sure if I would describe myself as one, but I find transhumanism very interesting, and I like things I find interesting.
|
| |
so they're above humans because you hypothesize that one day they will kill us?
that's why you want to draw closer toward being machine? that makes no sense. there has to be a deeper reason than that
|
| |
He is a nhilistic misanthropic anime fan its not hard to understand :p yeah transhumanism is cool
|
| |
"so they're above humans because you hypothesize that one day they will kill us?

It is a way of improvement, and improvement is what I care about. Have you read about transhumanism?

Legit talking about objectivity and music will ultimately get you nowhere as its dependant on your definition of objective. I could say that my rating system somewhat follows an model about innovation but that is ultimately still bound by my subjective experiences. You can however strengthen your understanding of your own preferences through exessive listening
|
| |
right , so i'm just wanting you to unpack how it is an improvement? and no i have not. i'm more interested in the psychology of your line of thinking lol. that is what i like :]
|
| |
"He is a nhilistic misanthropic anime fan its not hard to understand"
Ah, come on, man, I may be very pessimistic but I'm not a nihilist, lol. But, I may be a bit, just a bit misanthropic, sometimes.
|
| |
ye i already gave the whole 'objectivity in music does not exist' rigmarole. what i took from that conversation is basically he wants to be as well-informed and well-versed as possible so as to strengthen the veracity of his opinions .

Thats admirable and I actually emphasise completely with what alexander said about feeling better of from listening to more bad music(For me the derivative) . It strengthens your understanding of music in small ways
|
| |
that's pretty interesting. i am very different but i respect that position
|

Well, I recommend reading about it, it's quite interesting; and some Nietzsche too if you haven't, particularly Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Anyway, it really isn't very complicated, there's only two ways to stop an ASI from taking over the world: one, never create one, two, improve humanity as a whole to the point where an ASI isn't a threat; if we become closer to machines, we will survive, is that simple, really. I must clarify that I don't want humanity to become a bunch of machines, but rather something else, with the strenghts of an ASI and a human.
|
| |
so impetus for this change lies in it being a theoretical survival mechanic for a theoretical future machine uprising ? would you consider yourself a high-anxiety person?
|
| |
and yea i've read some Nietzsche
|
| |
"so impetus for this change lies in it being a theoretical survival mechanic for a theoretical future machine uprising ?"
Partially. Another reason without talking a lot about ASI, and also the reason why I mentioned Thus Spoke Zarathustra, is the Übermensch thing.
"would you consider yourself a high-anxiety person?"
Ah, that's an interesting question. Yes, I'd say that I can get quite anxious sometimes, at least at the moment.
