I saw that tour at RFK in DC. Metallica was seriously impressive, for not being a huge fan of theirs.
Would give my left nut to go back in time and see this line-up.
And I hear you on realizing that Live in Texas was multiple performances splices together. A show can’t be that good. They took the best performance of each song and put it on there.

Honestly has some of my favorite LP performances on there (even more than the album versions). Some songs like Lying From You benefit from that extra raw feel.

So are any other of Mudvayne's other albums worth listening to?

To some extent, The New Game

I think they’re all worth listening to. But The End of All things and Lost and Found are their only other GOOD albums. Self titled and The New Game are about half good half bad songs. 3/5 albums basically.

First two are the only really good ones. The rest are mediocre. I feel like they steadily got worse with each release.

Lost and Found is the embodiment of mediocre
Can't even remember the other two albums, but I probably won't like them upon revisiting either

Lost and Found has some pretty great songs, despite much of it being somewhat formulaic. I think it’s pretty damn underrated tbh.
Self titled and The New Game are definitely mediocre overall though.

Pretty much, except for self titled being better than The New Game. But other than that, spot on

Kinda put off anything past the second album atm. I've got this weird idea that these guys get a lot more butt rock after that.
This is based on very little, of course

seeing that they formed HELLYEAH right after, your intuition is correct
|
| |
Still wonder what got into them when they formed Hellyeah and I'm not totally against butt rock. It's just that one would think with Pantera, Mudvayne and Nothingface members in the band the reasonable talent involved would be enough to bring on some serviceable butt rock, but in reality it's the polar opposite of serviceable.
