Yes, but all 3 of the bands I listed fall under simply 'punk rock'. If post-rock was more popular there probably be a load of people making up sub-genres for it.
My belief has always been that genres are loose approximations but have utility, and that the creation of sub genres is usually pointless. If you want to be that exact, refer to specific bands or descriptors, not genres.
I'm interested to see what happens when Sonemic (RYM 2.0) launches. There will be charts for album descriptions as well as genres. I suspect the descriptor chart will be more useful.

I actually agree with this one. It's not really official due to the obscurity of the genre, but when people split up post-rock it's usually by referring to 'waves'. The third wave has very very little to do with the 1st and 2nd wave. It's much less of a broad genre, more boring.

Yeah, the other two just came to mind because of this album and Slint, but crescendocore kinda feels like a real thing.

Japan has a cool scene yeah. Vampillia, BOaT, Lite, Toe, Down, miaou, Mono.
I'm not sure that program music 1 is post-rock though. It's more like Rachel's. Who are on the border with chamber music.
