Regardless, what this album may lack in production it more than makes up for in musical quality, or better stated, this rules [2].

listen to perfect symmetry by fates warning, same era and style with 457349857345x better production. i think the main probably here is the drums are really weak and poppy, also the mix is rather muffled, i dont think its shit or anything its just a bit shill n n lacks distinction between instruments

apparently the band werent happy with the sound either, obviously a huge improvement on empire

lol KILL I know Perfect Symmetry too, I just don't hear how Mindcrime is much worse. I mean I agree the drums have that 80s smack, but I don't mind. I do have the remastered which may be different.

awaken sounds good but symmetry sounds fucking excellent as does parallels, can hear every little detail of zonders best ever made drumming, cant say the same for this record at all lol. i'm being harsh but even though i fucking love this record i can admit its one true flaw

his bass is even less audible though, it cut through perfectly on the original with its high treble clarity on the remix its just a fat bottom piece of shit being overblown by the wall of guitars over the triggered sounding snare and overly eq'd bass drum. oh and thats without mentioning the re-recorded vocals
