It was the vocals and intensity for me. I was just beginning my early stages of metalcore with bands like August Burns Red, Architects, etc. To go to this after basic gateway stuff like that really turned me away at first. It wasn't till I kept pushing that finally Eagles Become Vultures roped me in and Jane Doe began to click after I listened to You Fail Me.

AWLWLB is the album that made me love this band. Then I went back and jammed all the others and loved them too.

Once this band opened up to me as well, I began looking into every other respected metalcore band within Converge's realm really. As much shit as metalcore gets as a genre, it's legit one of my favorites if you look into the better side of it.

I take it you like the original's more raw feel to it? I get the Redux might have done away with it but some of those instruments just sound so much better on the Redux.

i like a lot of the stuff on the redux better than on the original but some of my absolute favorite songs there which truly made me love the album in the first place, like the t/t and in her shadow, just feel kinda... distant to me on the redux
