Darius I don’t like that album either lol
But for fans of music like this it’s pretty hard for them to understand why someone would dislike Jane Doe, this is pretty much a classic regardless of what you think of it

Not denying it's classic status. Fans of this album just seem particularly close-minded to me is all. But of course, they're gonna say that people who don't like this album are the ones being close-minded, so it's just a vicious cycle.

I felt exactly the same way at one point. I would listen to this and I just couldn't grasp why everyone loved this band so much. Axe to Fall eventually came out and I fell in love with that album instantly, but still didn't understand this one and the praise it received. I kept trying and trying until one day, it just clicked. I don't know why or how, but I suddenly felt the same love for this as everyone else who has it 4.5-5'd.

All we love made me love converge then I got into this more. Benefits of being a band for over twenty years with consistent music output is that they can put out something you'll like eventually and you'll go back with a new mindset. Plus not every genre is right for everyone at any given time.

Honestly, this album boils down to- do you like Jacob Bannons vocals.

The correct answer to that question is no.

I don't think he's an impressive vocalist by any means, but I think he suits the music perfectly. His vocals sound like raw pain and unbridled rage.

Honest to god I think he's the best harsh vocalist ever. Dusk really surprised me with how varied he can be.

I think all it takes to be a great vocalist is the ability to emotion and intensity well and honestly that’s his bread and butter. If I hadn’t have seen them live a bunch I would’ve sworn he uses some studio wizardry to sound the way he does, especially on this album but nope, dude just straight up sounds like a wild animal.

in a way i’m not surprised he’s bringing more variations to his vocals because of his age and i’m sure his lungs/throat can only take so much punishment. what shocked me was the amount of variation he had, and that it seemingly came out of nowhere. made me actually think “wait is that jacob? that’s jacob??!” multiple times

Nate has been doing vocals ever since he joined the band, dunno about Ben though

@robot Jacob said his threat bleeds after some performances. Sounds like he's on his last legs. Get out and see them while you can boys!

Jacob said his threat bleeds after some performances. Sounds like he's on his last legs.
He said that already in 2012 so I'd assume it's been going on even longer. Apparently he doesn't care and keeps going anyways. I hope he doesn't lose his voice completely.

his vocals aren't really that important live. what make him essential are his energy and intensity.

"Nate and Ben do vocals on and off sometimes too"
Nate and Kurt* Nate handles all of the backing stuff and Kurt does the gang vocal stuff

I'd honestly love to see Kurt step up more. Worms Will Feed is probably my favorite hook that they've made.
