For me it's more the fact that Mezmerize and Hypnotize often felt like Scars on Broadway albums in SOAD's clothing. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy both of them - I have them both 3.5'd - it's just that I definitely prefer the more eccentric side of SOAD in general
And to me, Toxicity was that perfect balance of being wacky while also being introspective and serious

I usually liked soad's brand of wacky but I didn't love it on this album. (Gonna probably get roasted for this) but im not a huge chop suey fan. Almost half the songs on this album i could do without. The score is brought up by the t/t and aerials which are by far my two favorite soad songs

Yeah, Chop Suey's not exactly a favorite of mine here either. But I feel like there are so many underrated gems people should talk about more, like Science, X, Deer Dance, Needles, etc.
