i'm brand new to this band, l would assume others think this, but it immediately gave me strong underoath vibes
edit: looks like it's all over the youtube comments on their videos so yes others caught it ha

Can't get Crying out of my head for the life of me. Chorus is infectious.

Like it’s been said before, but the dude is a fucking master of writing catchy ass hooks
I’ve probs listen to crying 30 times at this point and that is not an exaggeration. Band will be GOATED if they keep up this level of quality

gotta say i really wish i was hearing what y'all were hearing lol. i keep hittin it bc everyone here is so high on it but each time i dig it less : / the chorus is kinda part of why i'm not vibin. i'm not hearing the catchiness at all and when i am it's like that forced kinda catchy that's unpalatable to me
maybe it'll pop in an album's context tho

bubs how do you feel about the songs off the Prologue EP? I feel like Crying is much more in that vein and I've been listening to those songs more and more lately when I want to throw on Static Dress.

oh i really love the prologue songs. i think there's stuff here you could sub for disposable care, sober exit, and vague that would make this record even better
it kinda reminds me of pre prologue songs but i still really liked those (clean and for the attention of are two of my favorites of theirs). crying is honestly prob the only song from these guys i wouldn't rate a 4+ so im j kinda surprised and a little bummed by how disengaged i am

new single is easily one of my least favorite songs they've done. still a decent song though. I'm hoping they still have some heavy hitters lined up

100% agreed. I'd have this 5'd if those songs were on here. I'm surprised you don't like Crying as much since it feels like an extension of those songs, especially the second verse.

Clean and For the Attention Of are their best pre-LP songs and still some of their best overall. I'm not quite as big on the ones that sound like a straight copy of Underoath (Safeword, Sweet, etc.) but I can't say they've released anything I've disliked. I think they do an incredible job of balancing catchy pop songs with heavy ones but I find myself listening to the poppier ones lately.

oh right i forgot that sweet was one of their oldest songs since its on here lol. i really like that song though
the only two here that i reach for less than the others are dis in ter and such a shame but theyre both still great i just like them a hair less than the rest of this. agree their balance is great. i think the pacing of this really works to its advantage and kinda elevates everything. the two slower jams are particularly utilized magnificenty

Attempt 8, Marisol, and Whatchamacallit (I can never remember the name of this song) are my skips when I listen to this. Attempt 8 and Marisol are great but I'm usually just wanting to jam with the windows down while driving and they kill the vibe.
Disinter is my shit because of the Glassjaw breakdown section in the middle of the song and Such a Shame is weaker but catchy enough that I had it stuck in my head for weeks when this album came out.

yea thats fair. i just love me an album that gives me a journey haha. the more vibes the better in the book of bubs! i kinda feel a mental ceiling placed on my brain when i stay fixed in one lane the whole time, which probably explains my taste in these types of bands catering more towards their "artier" stuff. marisol was outright my favorite song here for a while, and attempt 8 is such a nice palate cleanser right before they rip all the walls down with courtney. makes both songs a lot better to me (and imo theyre already both pretty fuckin great standalone lol). they are different enough from the rest tho that i do understand it going either way for people
something about the hook on dis in ter does not land for me but it do go hard as hell. def some cool glassjaw/say hello to sunshine vibes on that

Yeah I absolutely wouldn't cut Attempt 8 or Marisol. I love the little somber synth that comes in halfway through Attempt 8 and it does make Courtney a shotgun blast to the face when it starts.
I'm glad they didn't make Marisol the final track because I'm all for the ballad but I don't always love it as the closer. They're Only Chasing Safety stops for me when I'm Content With Losing Ends because Some Will Seek Forgiveness doesn't do it justice as the closing track. Giving us Cubicle Dialogue here to jam out was a great move, even if it's a bottom half song for me.
