Koloss I’d say is my least favorite sounding one. Processing’s a bit too digital for my liking.

I like Koloss' sound a lot, too. I like the super slick, clinical, clean productions.

personally i can appreciate both the clean, clinical production as well as the murkier stuff idk

The murkier stuff works occasionally for me, but not usually with metal.

it would seem it's a polarizing issue, with most people either strongly preferring metal with a clean mix, or strongly preferring a murky mix, with little in between. idk why cuz i don't mind either but maybe it relates to what elements of the music they appreciate the most --vocals, solos, bass, dynamism, etc--, and how those elements are either enhanced or hindered, but because i don't like metal overall i just go on more of a case-by-case basis idk

I think those super clean clinical productions really work for this bands sound
I love Violent Sleep of Reason for Clockworks, Stifled and so on but the organic sound is a bit weird for a band thats trying to be mechanical

True, but I just don't like that one (except for Spasm. That's one of my favorite Meshuggah songs). It's too slow and lethargic for me. I like their more frantic/chaotic stuff.

Phantoms is boring. It feels like remedial math homework on a saturday. Yeah Obzen's production sucks but it holds up in spite of that. Which says a lot cause it's so muddy for some reason
