new song is fucking amazing. this album is shaping up to be not what i want from these guys but something so uniquely them that i can't wait to hear more. i guess i'll give Go Down Together another chance considering the other 3 are amazing.

Same tbh Feather, but NMG is a masterpiece so I did not expect them to reach that high again in the first place. That said I really like the fact that they do not give a shit and really try new things.

New song is great. Every song they've released has been super catchy but less impressive or monumental sounding than NMG. Honestly I'm fine with that.

Yeah, I really need to get off the "negative about new music" train I have been on recently. I just feel like a lot has been coming out from bands I love that I just don't absolutely love as much as their past output despite it still being good-great. This is in that same category.

Speak with the dead was the best so far, but seemed pretty meh to me. Can't stand the Lightning chorus. Go Down sounds like Mumford and sons. New one seemed to be gameshark-esque bombast but in a less gratifying way. Excited to hear the whole album but as singles, not feeling it at all
