First half of this album rules.

After the t/t things start getting reaaaallllyyyyyy inconsistent.

Under Duress is a weak point for me, admittedly the other tracks at the top end are at least decent.

hmm, I'd agree that the run of tracks up to and including the t/t is the best run, and I'm not huge on Murk & Murrow or Trigger, but generally post-t/t still keeps things to a high standard

Under Duress is your weak point? Damn, that's one of my faves.

'a weak point', I wouldn't say it's the worst offender, that would be Miles which is a strong contender for the worst song they've ever written.

Trigger has a sweet bass groove but nothing else really.

Wildlife, Broken Light and Cannibals are the highlights of the second half.

id say it isn't their strongest, though I do dig the atmosphere and personally find it to be a nice fit in the context of the record, between the chaos of Broken by Light / Cannibals into Reptilian

This is like the only Converge album I fuck with. Its got a couple duds but for the most part I like it.

If you fuck with this then fuck with AWLWLB too, if you don't already fuck it. Similar vibes, just (as the consensus generally seems to be) a bit better

Eh, AWLWLB is quite a bit more adventurous than this and certainly more consistent.

I do really like Under Duress though.

Reptilian, whilst being a good track, feels like an underwhelming closer compared to their others.

Like I've already said, the album is reaaallly front loaded and starts to falter in its second half.

Listened to a bunch of their albums today, notes:
Jane Doe is mad and im still processing it
You Fail Me is good but not as good as Jane
The Dusk In Us seems like they have toned down on a lot of the madness, and the album has a lot more metalcore aspects that where in parts of the previous albums but not as a centerpiece, like they seem to be in this new record

ahah cool...Axe to fall and All We Love are the best ones for me...but important also to get the process you spoke about to the last effort.
