Erosion is my fav Guts and this is like a middle ground between that era and Obscura in the best way possible. Prob will wait on another listen to rate but damn this slaps. I slept on it way too long

Well to be fair Gorguts does fit that 'thinking man's metal' tag. I don't remember if it was a guy from Pelican or other Post-Metal band who said it but that tag suits a lot of metal acts because of their changing, slow-mid paced tempo combined with intricate melodies and complex songwritings. I definitely lean towads that kind of pensive state inducing metal
