I might agree with it being tied with Heritage at least on the initial listen, but I love Deliverance. The new album flows together very well, and while I'm still not keen on the direction that they've taken, it's executed better without any question. That being said, I can't see it being any higher than a 3 for myself.

sorceress 2 is such a sweet tune. that, a fleeting glance and era are definitely my favourites atm. the longer songs are a bit hit and miss but overall pretty solid album.

Sorceress is basically an hour of cheese and overlong interludes. Good fucking lord it is terrible

I actually completely forgot that sorceress didn't already come out like a while ago so when I checked the ratings page for opeth and saw it had only like thirty ratings I was like, 'maybe I'm not the only one' but then I realized the album doesn't come out for another ten days so damn

i think the percentage of 'lol not metal 0/5' opeth listeners today is pretty low. the low ratings are more because they threw everything that made them special out of the window and instead copied their sound from like 40 years back
