And then bitch at their fans for not liking it.

"They’ve been getting weaker with each release tbh : ("
nah, anti-mother and meridional were the low points, and they've gradually, albeit just slightly improved with each release after those imo

and there's the right take

I prefer Anti-Mother and Meridional to anything that came after tbh, Wrongdoers is very good tho

I’d take wrongdoers over them, but agreed on the rest.

Oof.

I'm not saying Anti-Mother and Meridional are bad, they're good enough, but I just barely feel the need to listen to them and always just end up jamming the first two and the three latest when I want to get my NJ fix

Anti-Mother is their weakest overall. It has some solid songs on it but it's super underwhelming compared to everything else they put out. Meridional would've been better if not for the lame interludes that were thankfully taken out in the bandcamp version

Uggghhh see I just prefer the direction in those two than the more chunky and bottom-end worship of the recent stuff. Back when Scottie Henry was in the band the riffs just had this general sense of noisiness that I really liked and hasn’t carried over into their recent work.
|
| |
I really like Anti-Mother for having a more post-hardcore vibe overall, and the heavier tracks kick ass

the riffs were more angular for sure with Henry around but idk the push towards more alt rock choruses made em weaker to me. main reason why redeemer doesn't win me over completely. they still did them but there's more meat behind the music with that 'bottom-end worship'.

"chunky and bottom-end worship of the recent stuff."
Figures why I like the new stuff better lol

same. I remember them going low on Pretendeavor and I wanted more of that.

Gotta admit I got a childlike propensity to gravitate towards meatheaded grooves

Once in a while I just need a meatheady groove. Even though I prefer this and Polar Similar, I'd like to see some of the noisier style Jester digs return a bit. All Hail was kind of flat for me

“same. I remember them going low on Pretendeavor and I wanted more of that.”
I mean I love that shit too but I don’t feel like their influences for tracks like that are very comparable to what they’re doing now. Just don’t really feel drawn to the newer stuff sadly but I wonder if their guitarist leaving will mean another change in style

“Even though I prefer this and Polar Similar, I'd like to see some of the noisier style Jester digs return a bit. All Hail was kind of flat for me”
I should probably make it clear that I really like Wrongdoers. Polar Similar does things that I like but is where things started getting problematic for me, and All Hail has failed to leave any kind of impression on me at all

Corey got himself fucked up by the metalcore community with all his bullshit lol

I honestly hope this just fucking killed the band. I’m not one to get easily offended but that shit was astonishingly tone deaf.
