Just spun this for the first time in ages. Album was definitely ahead of its time.

I was thinking today that Invent Animate has kinda filled that atmospheric / djenty void that this band used to fill for me.

The last few Volumes albums have actually been enjoyable for me but they're very different from the "lightning in a bottle" they struck here.

yeah even different animals i enjoy to a degree, i think their change up with no sleep suit them pretty well and happier picked up pretty nicely where that left off with a few new influences in the mix, but this is the album they were meant to make and one of my favorites of all time
