It just amazes me how Linkin Park are The Little Band That Couldn't. Every album they trash their old stuff, start over and throw something new at the wall, and they have a few good ideas, but none of it ever really *sticks*. It's fascinating.

When has their songwriting ever been above average though? The band make up for it in other ways, always have imo.

They have a few songs that I think are amazingly written, 'a line in the sand' springs to mind. I also think 'until it breaks' is a grossly underrated LP song, Mike does a couple of great verses and then the outro is so weird and exotic, really well written stuff. But yeah their songwriting is usually pretty average

I'm surprised this has their joint lowest average score on sputnik. The album was a nice surprise after the turgid previous release and seemed a natural progression of their sound.
