It's a massive grower trust me. I hated it on first listen too, but after the fifth time you're like fuck yes

we follow the earth...the earth follows the stars...the stars know their way. and though the body dies, the stars will remain...like the waves of the sea...

and i cant quite make out that last part, sounds like "and the restless (something)" anybody know what shes saying?

von till's vox on this are lame as fuck. they are way too high in the mix and 'pushy' for lack of a better term. he's so much better on their old material. in fact he literally ruins some of the songs, not that i dont love his voice itself but how it's produced on the album and the unrelenting emphasis he seems to have. his vocals were way more effective and chilling on older records.

Idk, isn't 5 or whatever listens standard practice for an album? To actually form proper opinions beyond the initial "oooh I'm liking this" or "not so sure I'm digging this"? To me, a grower is checking an album out like 6 months down the track after initially disliking it and then beginning to warm to it

Don't get me wrong I love it when you're sassy

And yeah I agree, hell the best growers are the ones that take years

Listening to an album a day later and going "this clicked!" isn't a grower, get out of the honeymoon phase first and let things settle in.People around here are too quick to rate and throw their opinions on people. Insurrection is probably about 5 minutes away from posting a "Honour Found In Decay - Ranked" list

anyways, if you didnt like an album at first and after 5 listens you did, that would be a grower to me. even if you check it out again a few months later, youre still probably only going to listen to it like 5 times altogether before you start to like it. only difference is you listened to it a few times, forgot about it, and listened to it a few times more months down the line instead of getting familiar with it all at once. either way it takes around the same amount of listens to click with it.
