honestly think this may become a 5 - it's flawless. the integration of the psychedelic and progresslive elements just couldn't be better, feels cohesive and tight. it's actually astonishing from a songwriting perspective how they make these contrasting elements sound natural to the point you don't even realise it's shifting between them.
if i were looking for an example of progressive death metal to recommend to just about anyone this album would be it.
it also makes the new opeth album look more like a fucking joke.

oh no it wasn’t aimed at you at all. it’s just a general experience with this album. I can’t tell you how many comments I’ve seen all over the internet that amount to “I don’t like death metal but this album is awesome!”
