But the organ solo live makes up for it.

Oh yeah I've already mentioned what I think of the In Rock production. I'm the only weirdo who prefers
Machine Head's smoothness but then again I also like In Absentia which everyone is knocking for
overproduction too. Anyways, the live versions of DP songs are best agreed, though I have every note
memorized of the studio Highway Star solo so it kinda throws me when I hear the live version.

Production is really a touchy subject when you think of it. In any case, I don't feel it was one of DP's strong suits, hence why I think they sound better live. I just feel they kinda came up short studio-wise when it came to sound quality.
Now Sabbath, on the other hand, sustained solid prod throughout their First 6 imo.

Still need to hear H&H and Mob Rules. Heard all the six classic Ozzy era Sabbath albums.

if black sabbath had never existed, and a band released this album now in 2014, i doubt anyone would care.
Goin' home, late last night
Suddenly I got a fright
Yeah I looked through the window and surprised what I saw
A fairy with boots on dancin' with a dwarf, all right now!
Fairies wear boots and you gotta believe me
Yeah I saw it, I saw it, I tell you no lies
you got to be kidding me...

If Black Sabbath had never existed, I'm pretty sure metal wouldn't exist either.

Yup pretty much

people might have picked up heavy elements from blue cheer and psychedelia and king crimson and stuff
