I started with The Beyond and went chronologically. It's all good material.

Start with the first. Also , CoL = Isis ... cannot pick between the two.

With such high standards something good has to be at the end.

I need to go on a post-metal binge asap. This is probs a 4.5, but just haven't listened to it enough to quite justify it.

I hear you, just listened to this for the first time & it's excellent but can't decide on quite how excellent yet. I will say it's definitely a more striking first listen than Panopticon or Neurosis' ASTNS (latter is now a 5) was for me... maybe I'm just getting used to post-metal-like music though, I don't know. There are little bits of invention here that sound atypical compared with other post-metal (or heavy post-rock, which I'm more familiar with). Interesting album.

Really? Interesting. Honestly, I've heard maybe 8 albums that could be considered post-metal so I'm clueless. This was immediately gratifying, not sure if this is just easier to like on first listen or whether I'm just getting used to the general style. Only album I dug more first time was probably 'Agalloch's Ashes'
