Listening to this album felt like remembering shit off other albums I’d heard before

That actually is so true for me with this album. It’s too abstract but I said it sounded like everything is in quotation marks—a function of Lana’s weird postmodern persona, but also, like, the songwriting. Nothing even half as interesting chords-n-melody wise as say “west coast” or “shades of cool”—all feels borrowed to me, even though that probably isn’t the extent of my qualm

You heard Lanas poetry on whatsist bent over backwards or whatever it’s called doof?

Have a word with yourself love.

Quite nice plinks and plonks on it though, there’s something about it.

BTD is a better movie-album and Blue Bannisters actually sounds like it was written by a real human so idk about that

This is her best for me because the songwriting here is the most consistently engaging. I did also think Blue Bannisters was excellent though; that and Ultraviolence are a virtual tie for #2 and BTD is in the mix somewhere despite being very single reliant.

BTD is nowhere near this as a whole and I didn't give Blue Bannisters a proper chance, bored me on my first listen, might need to revisit it
