does everyone agree with my bud wildcard? cuz that sounds reasonable to me
yea the transition from pain to title track was pretty jarring. i was thinking maybe it was that way for the vinyl but nope same thing there so ya thats a hard thinker
jbob are you there? give us the 10 angry boys / 1 sad boy tracklist

"Like, the title track comes in way too early, and coming off the heels of Pain just grinds the record to a halt."
it's not a new strategy for them, grim heart and worms will feed are also placed similarly in the middle of the album as a sudden tempo lowering. it's kind of a hit and miss thing but i like the track order here

The track-listing is absolutely fine, the content just isn’t strong enough. I know people like Eve & wanted it as the closer but a) that’s nonsensical & b) that would’ve only improved this marginally.

No I agree that eve doesn't belong on the album at all. Sure, it would've probably been the best track on the record, but I really can't find anywhere it would fit in, let alone at the very end

Agreed. In the end the track exists and I'm glad we have it so whether or not it's on this album is irrelevant

I wish they had cut the title track and put Eve on the end of the record. It's one of the worst songs they've ever written (IMO, of course), but I was so fucking happy when they played it live because it provided a much needed break and I might have died otherwise.

I think the t/t is alright but as far as their softer more experimental shit goes it's at the bottom along with thousands of miles

Those two tracks are structured so horribly. Slow build up to a chorus and then they completely drop off, killing any momentum they built. The slow build begins all over again, slightly shorter this time, with the end of the track being "bigger"

The title track ends in an amazing way though, and it's overall one of the saddest and most gripping pieces of music I've heard recently. It just won't let me go

i almost consistently skip the t/t. it’s fine on its own but after the brutality of the first few tracks it kinda kills the momentum for me

I love the t/t, I think it works well

Yeah the chorus on t/t is killer.
"I ask from within my heart, where did our failures start
If we must imagine ourselves as someone, somewhere else
And what does the future hold, if we're running low on health and hope
Our denial it speaks in tongues, there's monsters among us"
lyricism on point as always

Damn, I got the same opinion as Art. What's happening with the world?
t/t is outstanding

"What's happening with the world?"
it's getting wretched

i would have preferred if they swapped t/t and reptilian and scrapped thousands of miles altogether

Yeah Thousands of Miles is a real bummer after the one-two of Broken By Light and Cannibals

I like that song but it's not anything remarkable by their standards
