I can't remember where I was where people were talking about how it didn't seem as big as some of the tracks on Black Mile, or how it felt underwhelming. When I have time maybe I'll go searching for where that was on this site.

I guess it’s relatively simple structure-wise but it still has a lot going in with the instrumental. Sounds “big” to me. I’m happy with it

I agree with the idea that this isn't as emotionally affecting as a lot of BMttS, but neither was The Gold when it kicked that record off. Anyway, I'm cool with MMOG being a sonic departure. These guys have more than earned the right to experiment with different sounds. Even if it flops - which I doubt it will - I'll still respect the hell out of them. And fwiw Bed Head is insanely catchy and IMO the best lead single they released since Simple Math.

I think my only gripe about the single is that I wish that breakdown at the end hit harder, but for the most part it's a solid song. Hope to hear them try stuff different from it but it's definitely enjoyable.

Am still hoping these guys go full experimental here. I really don't think they can top Black Mile in terms of their traditional alt-rock sound, so it seems likely that they'll either try to expand commercially or go full rabbit hole. Bed Head is somehow both, lol.

I’m excited to check the new one, but haven’t decided if I should just wait it out for the album to drop. Somewhat guarded expectations because this is by far and away my fave thing they’ve done.

Same here. I live for the hype but I can't help but feel like this new one will somehow let me down. I have no reason to think that though. Outside of Cope (which is still decent), they've only gotten better and better.
