By far the most underwhelmed I've ever felt about Dillinger

I can see how it rubs people the wrong way, I can also see why people would see it as lazy.

The people who have this at a 2.5 or below haven't even listened, guaranteed.

About the whole Miss Machine discussion, a while ago (a couple months before Ire Works) I heard about DEP and decided to check them. "Unretrofied" had a video so I started there. I am rarely so turned off by a band. Seriously, you guys acting like "Black Bubblegum" or "One of us is the Killer" is the bane of your existence, why don't I ever see anyone bitching about that song?

God, I love their intense moments but they're at the best when they do the catchy pop songs. Greg's singing voice is incredible. The lyrics of One of Us is the Killer are especially bad though.

Honestly, I'm embarrassed by this, but I'm enjoying the new Killswitch more than this. Dillier are just phoning this shit in

How are the lyrics bad (as opposed to anything off of any other album by them)?

Is the hook lyric too memorable or some shit?

I think it'll be way more of a grower than most people are expecting

Damn I always see people talking about how great Greg's singing voice is but I just don't see it. He's pretty good but his cleans are just too nasally I guess for them to be considered great imo. His harsh vocals are amazing though.

Also why is no one talking about Billy Rymer? Kid rips on this record.

Also I'm trying to listen to the new National but I keep coming back and playing the shit out of this instead. This record is definitely a grower.

I've always found Miss Machine to be vastly overrated. At the time it came out it was probably pretty impressive, but outside of that context it just feels like a transition record.

I don't get the love for Miss Machine either. Phone Home is the only track I regularly listen to.

I think the opening two tracks of Miss Machine are the best opening tracks of any heavy album by any band (even better than the openers on CI), but the second half of Miss Machine just kinda bores me and I lose interest by the end of it. Unretrofied is terrible too.

But I think OP is Dillinger's best album so what do I know.
