Idk about Revolver. Never quite hit me.

Rubber Soul is the best Beatles though. Revolver and this are close behind.

Rubbers is definitely simpler than some of their other great stuff but imo their songwriting was never more consistently amazing.

Everything from Rubber Soul-Abbey Road is brilliant anyway

I find MMT and The White Album a bit patchy (I know MMT is your favorite - sorry!) but yeah pretty much.

MMT is so good. Some of the best songs on there. Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever are god-tier.

White Album's takes a lot of risks, but I believe most of them pay off.
Good Night's super boring, Revolution 9's a lame example of musique concrete, and Birthday is one of the worst songs ever... but I really like everything else on there including the super simplistic songs.

I Am the Walrus = best Beatles song ever
Nothing even close to a bad song on MMT

mmt is their best

I am the Walrus is a goofy fun tune but not a "great" song imo (there's no emotion). Your Mother Should Know is just mind of meh (I'm not a fan of the Beatles' music hall type songs. Similarly Baby You're a Rich Man just never did much for me, and I'm not a huge fan of All You Need is Love.
On the other hand Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, The Fool on the Hill, and (especially) Blue Jay Way are some of my favorites Beatles songs.
MMT is the Beatles at their wackiest and for me in general wackiness has an inverse relationship with enjoyability.

I Am the Walrus is the best song by the Beatles, and it's even better when you find out why Lennon wrote it
Your Mother Should Know is catchy as fuck honestly in the best way possible
Baby You're a Rich Man is just great idk
"and for me in general wackiness has an inverse relationship with enjoyability"
Don't go all Doof on me.

I'm sorry Ars that's just how I feel. I'm not saying wackiness is inherently bad I just don't enjoy it. It's not what I listen to music for (most of the time, wackiness can of course be done very well but it's a high bar).

That's a real shame honestly. Wacky is a huge plus for me in general.
We all have things we don't like I guess though... I could name a ton

I mean Sgt Pepper's is my favorite Beatles so to each their own

I just like my music to come from genuine emotion. Wackiness for the sake of wackiness is antithetical to this (this does not however mean I dislike humor in music).
