Best JEW without a doubt.
And that closer, goddamn.

The keys in the bridge of "For Me This is Heaven" wrecks me every time.

It’s so fucking mesmerizing and hypnotic. Amazing closer.
This really has some beautiful pieces of music on it — aside from GSH, Just Watch the Fireworks is just stunning.

I’m hoping some of their other stuff measures up to this album. Instant 5.

It does my friend, it does. They don't really repeat this particular "twinkly" style again, but they always nail everything they do.

You're in for a treat. Clarity is one of their best but they certainly have other albums and songs that live up to it. Look forward to tracks like Cautioners, Kill and 23. Their later albums are a little more straight-forward maybe in that they don't meander as much as long songs like GSH and JWTF. Things get a bit tighter and more refined but still equally great.

I agree, after this things get a bit less twinkly and more power chords and huge rock anthems, whilst still having the lyrical and melodic DNA of Clarity.

It’s weird to me that so many people are referring to this band as Jew throughout this thread lol.

You planning on checking out the new album when it releases in a month's time and be part of the discussions, or are you going to slowly work your way up to it?
Should be a new single in the next few days too.

Good question! Always cool to be going through a discog only to find out the band has a new album coming also.
I’m not gonna rush through things. I’m a little OCD in a way so I’m going through the discog chronologically and won’t listen to the new one until I get there. I like to take my time with albums so I’ll probably only be halfway or so through their discog when the new one comes out.
In other words, I’ll probably have to join the discussion a little late ;)
But I’ll definitely be reading people’s thoughts on it beforehand.

3rd listen in and, while it was an immediate 5 already, this just continues to grow. So glad I decided to check these guys out. Growing up, my only exposure to them was The Middle video on MTV/TRL and I really hated that song lol. So I just figured they weren’t my thing and always just associated them with that song.
I was so wrong.

hahah yaaaay I'm so glad you like it. This album is a masterpiece and definitely mesmerizing. Goodbye Sky Harbour was something I used to just play in the background over and over while doing things.

This is also a really nice one to have on vinyl with a decent-ish setup. Not like it was the most brilliantly mastered for wax album, but that format alone makes it sound even warmer than it already is.

I love the love for this album. JEW are one of my favourite bands of all time, they're a special band. Everybody in my friendship group are mad about them and we've had a lot of magical times watching them together their stuff just connects so well.
