Only good scene band is still The Devil Wears Prada.

PtV are meh at best. Theyre just a poppy version of The Fall of Troy who are in turn a poppy version of Hot Cross.

If being deficient in some ways means not caring too much for a Post-Hardcore band thats overproduced and puts more emphasis on their least interesting aspects despite being a band with more musicianship and potential to do better then yeah im okay with being deficient.

Pierce is fine, they're not the greatest but I dig a lot of their work. It's nothing to slice paper to though, so it's no surprise.

Pierce the Veil is awful

They're more of a pork roast than a full-fledged beef steak, so I can see where you could come to that conclusion.

The least interesting aspects are whenever theyre not doing riffs ala The Fall of Troy and instead resort to mediocre pop hooks that are only just slightly above the level of garbage bands like SWS. Hell Above is a good example of them coming close to what they could be while King for a Day and Bulls in the Bronx are prime examples of them at their worst.
Band is such a mixed bag in terms of songwritting that its painful.

Collide With the Sky is a dope record come on

I meant the comparison in that both are mixing prog ideas with Post-Hardcore and there is some obvious influence. The more fast paced and technical parts of Hell Above def ape some stuff that TFOT do.

Collide With the Sky is a complete mixed bag, not what I would consider a dope record. If the band were more consistent with their technicality then they could make a record thats at least on the level of Kurt Travis-era DGD.

I SHOULD HAVE KNOWNNNNNNNNNNN THIS BAND WAS FUCKINGGGGG AWFULLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Kurt Travis waa the best era of DGD. Self-titled and Happiness are their most mature records. Downtown Battle Mountain was a decent start but Kurt offered more, they upped the technicality and harder aspects while still keeping the pop sensibilities on the albums with Kurt.

Happiness spoke more to their math rock/screamo side with a bit of a rawer and noisier production. Still inferior to bands like Hot Cross and Kidcrash but still worth the listen.
Absurdism isnt an excuse for lack of maturity.

Maturity can be a piece of good songwriting.
Didnt know that Night in the Woods was immature and neither do I really care but okay.

yeah this has a few moments of clarity but it's so all over the place and disjointed I completely get why anyone would give this a 1

I'd give this a 1 just coz l thought Danny Worsnop was a fucking prick tbh

yeah he.... wasn't the brightest tool in the shed. Still isn't a crowning jewel but I'd say I prefer him now to this old immature bullshit.

I watch band interviews on YT a lot so their interviews would always be recommended and l remember watching 2-3 interviews and he was just such an obnoxious tool. A band who have personalities like that turn me off no matter how good their music is
