I saw a description of the National Anthem that said, "this is what the national anthem should sound like if it really encapsulated the attitudes of the people and culture within the nation" or something and that made me like the song even more, might be a indirect quote of band idk

I remember how fucking weird The National Anthem sounded at first - I'm sure it sounds normal to people who listen to free jazz but as someone still breaking out of my Coldplay phase that just blew my mind. Now I've played it so many times that it just sounds normal, though. Definitely one of my favorite Radiohead tracks.
