It's a catchy and fun track with some great guitar work from Will

Will's probably the best part of that album, real talk. The instrumentation def saves DGD from becoming too boring. It's at least interesting even if it annoys me.

Am I the only one who feels like Kurt's vocal melodies across this album are an absolute mess? Like there's never any interesting shape to them, he just uses one part of his vocal range, and it stops a lot of these songs from really sticking with me. Which is a shame because his voice is actually kinda cool but ugh

the music/melodies ain't always bad (as proven by tree city sessions) just happens the vocal personnel and production was so god awful you cant tell most the time

Hmm...yeah I'm not too big on the production on this one either. Even the compositions are pretty amateurish compared to Swan's Tilian-era work, like those records are so much more passionate and catchy.

BUT the song Happiness itself certainly does it for me, that might be one of their best songs period.

I checked out Kurt's work with ALLB and Royal Coda and it trumps this album BIG time.
Unpopular opinion maybe but his lyrics, vocal range and power, and his versatility shine through so much better now he's had the chance to mature as an artist.

Conversation piece and no place might be him at his best with the added bonus of some terrific music backing him. Royal Coda still needs to grow on me. It's night and day difference from when he started on self titled though. Still love him on that album.

I feel like him with ALLB just went SO well. He sounded at home there, for sure.
I don't love all of Royal Coda's tunes, but Cut Me Under and Calm and Composed are wonderful tunes.
Uneasy Hearts and Happiness are phenomenal tracks, but as a whole Kurt's time with DGD is just...meh to me. It musically still sounds like Jonny Craig rebound to me, which sucks, cos Kurt's voice is phenomenal.

Happiness is one of my favorite albums of all time, but I agree ALLB, especially Conversation Piece, was the most natural fit for Kurt and it’d be hard to say which one I like better. Royal Coda hasn’t won me over but Cycled Through The Past is a fucking amazing song, so I’m excited to hear more, especially with Jason Ellis in the band now

ALLB with Kurt was something special, No Place is easily my favorite album in this genre. Royal Coda is dope, and I'm super keen to hear their new album now that Ellis is on bass because his bass work on this album is the best bass on any DGD album

I need to check these guys out. Only heard a few songs, mostly singles (We Own the Night, Betrayed by the Game, Care etc). My feelings were mixed but they seem promising.

Thx man, will do.
