Indeed so. Doesn't sound "fake" either. It sounds like they were in some big arena doing arena stuff.

"Jason's bass tone on this album melts like butter. So nice."
I mean the fact that his bass was actually mixed into the music this time around was a blessing in itself, so that's a plus

the biggest sell out ever. Not because of the style of songs but the way they were performed, mixed, produced whatever they did to it.
many bands have changed styles, some many times, however they kept some of themselves and did not do it to sell records and be more famous ( most anyway). I think why I hate this album and what it stands for is that they were almost embarrassed to be Metallica, they wanted to get as far away from themselves as possible.

for such a blatant sellout album, this also happened to be crazy successful so can't really blame them

Album Rating: 3.0
success does not mean you cant blame them for doing it, that only means that They do not have to listen to their fans, which they have done, because since then their albums have sucked, too much energy trying to sue teenagers for listening to their music

yeah well they were kinda boring before it too so i don't really care for how much of a showing bare ass to their fans this album is

Kill'em all, ride, and Puppets were my favorite metal albums as a kid, , maybe because I was young, but those 3 still stand up to scrutiny pretty easily. these at least tied at the top of the thrash world during that period
